Facile win for TTL

Centre-forward Abhishek Gowda's inspiring play and excellent hat-trick (12th, 17th & 23rd minutes) helped last year's runner-up TTL College, Mysore register a facile 6-3 win over Sree Ramkrishna Vidyashala PU College, Mysore to enter the final in the College boys' section of the district-level hockey tournament for the Andolana Cup here on Saturday.

Both teams exhibited a fast paced game and TTL College held the upper-hand by having the major share of the exchanges. Anil Ganapathy (11th), Dhananjay (18th) and N.D. Charan (19th) were the other goal scorers for the winner.

R. Abhishek (8th) and Tharun Joyappa (15th & 22nd) scored for Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala PU College.

In the other semifinal, St. Philomena's College, Mysore trounced Cauvery PU College 4-0. A brace by Gagan (11th & 34th) was the highlight of the game. Yeshwin (7th) and Vidwan (21st) scored a goal each.

The results: College boys: Semifinals : TTL College, Mysore bt Sri Ramkrishna Vidyashala PU College 6-3; St. Philomena's College bt Cauvery PU College 4-0.

Third Place : Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala bt Cauvery PU College 3-0 (via tie-breaker). Full time 0-0.

College girls: Semifinals : Teresian PU College bt JSS Degree College 6-0.

High School boys: Semifinals : Demonstration HS bt Baden Powell HS 2-1; Shree Cauvery HS bt Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala 1-0.

High School girls: Third place : Good Shepherd HS bt Shree Cauvery HS 2-1 (via tie-breaker). Full time 0-0.

Primary School boys: Third place : Demonstration Primary School bt Shree Cauvery PS 2-0.

Primary School girls: Third place : JSS PS bt Shree Cauvery PS 4-0.
