Manjeet Rawal and Karishma Singh scored eight goals each as Chandigarh outclassed Assam 23-0 in a Pool C match on the opening day of the National junior women’s hockey championship at the Motilal Nehru School of Sports turf, Rai, here on Monday.

Karishma secured a double-hat-trick, while Manjeet notched up a hat-trick.

In a Pool A encounter, Mizoram beat Andhra Pradesh 2-1. Lalhlunmawii scored a brace for Mizoram after Avani Nattha had put Andhra Pradesh ahead.
