India was blanked 0-3 by New Zealand in their last pool match in the women’s World Cup hockey at the Jockey Club here.

India have recorded only one win in their five pool matches and finished fifth in the standings with three points. They now play South Africa for the 9-10 positions on Friday.

The Indians held New Zealand goalless in the first-half but the Kiwis led by skipper Kayla Sharland ran amok in the second-half. Sharland (44th and 55th minute) and Katie Glynn (51st min) were the goal-scorers for New Zealand.
