A betting firm in Spain has already taken wagers on who will be the next biting victim of Luis Suarez, according to Catalan paper Sport on Wednesday.
Suarez, 27, signed for Barcelona last week from Liverpool but will not be able to make his debut in La Liga until October 25 because of the FIFA ban.
It was the third biting offence committed by Suarez in recent years. He has promised not to do it again and Barcelona has put an ‘anti-biting’ clause in his five-year contract.
However, Sport said that betting house Luckia is accepting bets on who will be Suarez’s next victim. The favourite is Real Madrid’s belligerent defender Pepe, at 21 to 1. Then comes Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin — a compatriot of Suarez — at 26 to 1. Real strikers Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are both at 51 to 1. — DPA
