Striker Edinson Cavani could leave Uruguay’s Copa America squad after the arrest of his father for allegedly crashing his vehicle under the influence of alcohol and causing the death of a motorcyclist.
Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez said on Tuesday that a decision has not yet been made on whether the Paris Saint-Germain football player will continue in the ongoing tournament in Chile, reports Xinhua .
“It is a personal issue regarding Edinson who was not involved in anything but is nonetheless affected. We talked to him to extend our support to him. He is affected as anyone who would have such a thing happen to a member of their family,” Tabarez said.
