Mumbai-Minerva in goalless draw

The punch in Mumbai FC attack was missing.

Minerva Punjab FC forwardline did not do anything spectacular as well to trouble the host backline, resulting in a goalless draw in the 11th round Hero I-League encounter at the Cooperage on Sunday.

MFC had one goal disallowed for off-side. Minerva custodian Arnab Das Sharma was outstanding, producing a string of fine saves.

He produced a superb reflex save on the goalline early in the first half.

He also reacted well to a glancing header from Thoi Singh to deny MFC in the 35th minute.

Pratesh Shirodkar had set up the chance with a cross from the left.

Minerva faced a tough time, struggling to knit flowing moves. Kattimani, in goal for the home team, had little to do.

Minerva’s Surinder Singh fielded four U-22 players in the starting line-up, then added a fifth, Krishna Pandit, after half-time.

Other result:At Vasco: Churchill Brothers 3 (Kromah 57, Wolfe 64, Mollick 90+4) bt DSK Shivajians 0.
