Kalighat MS beats Aizawl FC

Kalighat Milan Sangha, one of the two teams from Kolkata to have made it to the final phase of the I-League second division being played at Siliguri, beat Aizawl FC of Mizoram 3-0 on Thursday.

In another game, Royal Wahingdoh of Meghalaya opened its campaign with a 1-1 draw against Vasco SC of Goa.

Mario opened the scoring Kalighat MS with an eighth-minute goal. Waheed made it 2-0 before half-time and added his second and the team's third in the 60th minute for the team's first win. Aizawl lost its second game in a row.

Vasco SC shot ahead in the fifth minute through Aiken Dias and managed to preserve the lead till five minutes before close. A defensive error enabled Royal Wahingdoh to level the scores through Satiyasen that helped his side pick up its first point.

Vasco, which had lost to United Sikkim FC 2-3 in the opening game, also earned its first point.
