Fourth straight win for Sporting

Mohammedan Sporting of Kolkata recorded its fourth straight victory getting the better of Mizoram's Luangmual FC by a solitary goal in a Group 3 I-League second division match at New Delhi on Saturday.

Stanly Cyprian scored the match-clincher in the 50th minute. This win helped Sporting stay on top of the table with 12 points from four outings. Luangmual stayed on five points from four matches.

In another match, Goa's Vasco SC outplayed Kerala's Golden Threads 5-1 in a match of the same group. Andrew Jgado scored in the 7th, 12th and 28th minutes for Vasco while Agnelo Colaco and Aniket Jadhav scored a goal each in the 26th and 71st minutes. M. Ranjith scored the lone reducer for Kerala side in the 49th minute.

The win lifted Vasco to seven points from four matches. Golden Threads remained on three from four games.

Techno Aryan Club, playing at Cuttack in group 2 league, hammered five past Kenkre FC of Mumbai to stay in the race for the final league berth. Charles (hat-trick) and Michel (2) were the Aryan team's goal getters.

United Sikkim FC, whose captain Baichung Bhutia was summoned to face the disciplinary committee of the AIFF for alleged misbehaviour in the team's previous game against Green Valley, outplayed Dhyanchand awardee coach Shabbir Ali-trained Southern Samity 3-1.

The results: At Silchar (group 1): United Sikkim bt Southern Samity 3-1. At Cuttack: Techno Aryan bt Kenkre FC 5-0; Sesa FA beat Quartz FC 1-0. At Delhi: Mohammedan Sporting bt Luangmual FC 1-0; Vasco SC bt Golden Threads 5-1.
