Football’s ruling body FIFA said on Wednesday it is investigating bribery allegations against presidential candidate Mohamed bin Hammam and vice president Jack Warner.

FIFA said in a statement that both have been summoned to an ethics committee hearing on Sunday at the FIFA headquarters in connection with a May 10-11 meeting of Bin Hammam with Caribbean football leaders in Warner’s home country of Trinidad.

FIFA said the issue was reported by CONCACAF general secretary Chuck Blazer and that “the facts alleged in this report ... include bribery allegations.” Two other officials are being probed as well.

The hearing on Sunday comes three days before Bin Hammam challenges Joseph Blatter for the FIFA top job on June 1 at the FIFA Congress.

Blatter has been in office since 1998.
