Didier Drogba's 100th Premier League goal was enough to beat 10-man Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and maintain Chelsea's challenge for a top four finish.
The win moved the Blues level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal, which faces Newcastle United on Monday.
Stoke was forced to play with 10 men for over an hour following the 25th-minute dismissal of Ricardo Fuller for a stamp on Branislav Ivanovic.
The results: Aston Villa 1 (Weimann 90) bt Fulham 0; Bolton 2 (Pratley 37, Klasnic 86) bt QPR 1 (Cisse 48); Chelsea 1 (Drogba 68) bt Stoke 0; Sunderland 1 (Bendtner 56) bt Liverpool 0; Wolves 0 lost to Blackburn 2 (Hoilett 43, 69).
