Austria is searching for a new football coach, the country’s football association (OFB) made clear less than 24 hours after the team drew with Turkey.

The goalless draw in Tuesday’s Euro qualifier in Vienna sees the team no longer stand a chance of qualifying for the finals in Ukraine and Poland and there was speculation that coach Didi Constanini would resign or be sacked after the match.

However, the OFB said that Constantini, 56, will keep his job until the end of the year, when his contract runs out, but it will not be renewed.

He succeeded Czech coach Karel Brueckner in 2009.

Austria lost 13 of the 23 matches it played under Constanini, including an embarrassing 6-2 debacle in the Euro qualifier against Germany on Friday.

Austria has not qualified for a European or World Championship since 1998.
