An injury-time goal from Niraj Singh gave ASC & Centre an exciting 3-2 win over defending champion Bengaluru FC (BFC) in the BDFA Super Division football league at Bangalore Football Stadium here on Wednesday.

With the score tied at 2-2, substitute Niraj latched on to a cross from Deepak Singh deep inside the BFC box. Niraj calmly slotted it past goalkeeper Aditya Patra to spark big celebrations.

Earlier, Muthuraman Thiyagarajan gave ASC a 1-0 lead, neatly lobbing a left-footer over the advancing Patra. A penalty from Edmund Lalrindika, the result of a hand-ball from defender Samananda Singh, pulled BFC even. BFC then went 2-1 ahead through a Leon Augustine penalty, the referee pointing to the spot after a rather innocuous push from an ASC defender.

The third penalty of the match, another hand-ball mistake, allowed ASC’s Jotin Singh to get on the scoresheet and make it 2-2.

ASC recorded its second win in three outings, while BFC’s campaign opener ended in defeat.

In another fixture, Kickstart FC Karnataka whipped AGORC 6-0.

The results: ASC & Centre 3 (Muthuraman Thiyagarajan 16, Jotin Singh 85, Niraj Singh 90+3) bt BFC 2 (Edmund Lalrindika 52, Leon Augustine 74).

Kickstart FC Karnataka 6 (Edwin Rossario 24, Shelton Paul 37, Uzochi Emmanuel 40, Nikhil Raj 43, Sudheer Kotikela 79, R. Pradeep 81) bt AGORC 0.
