Ar-Hima stays in contention

Ar-Hima FC of Meghalaya has enhanced its chances of following league leader United Sikkim FC into the final round of the football I-League second division from the Silchar leg.

On Sunday, the Shillong-based side outplayed Southern Samity of Kolkata 4-2 in its final league match of the group 1 to reach 11 points from six matches with a goal difference of plus 6.

Aizwal FC from Mizoram, on 10 points, will take on United Sikkim in the final and it will need to beat the Sikkim side to overtake Ar-Hima for a place in the final round.

The results: At Silchar (group 1): Green Valley drew with Bhawanipur FC 1-1; Ar-Hima FC bt Southern Samity SC 4-2.

At Cuttack (group 2): Techno Aryan Club bt Gauhati Town Club 3-1.

At Delhi (group 3): KGF Academy bt Luangmual FC 7-1; Golden Threads drew with Simla Youngs 1-1.
