Raul is planning to finally leave Real Madrid, according to sports daily AS on Friday.
AS claims that Raul is tired of being on the subs’ bench and will leave the club, possibly for England or Germany, in June, when he will be 33.
Raul has not been first choice for the whites since Real signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema last summer.
He is the top scorer in the club’s history, and also in the history of the Spanish national team, for whom he has not played since 2006.
He made his debut for Real in 1994 aged 17 and has helped the club to win three Champions Leagues — scoring in the 2000 and 2002 finals — and six Spanish Ligas.
Two weeks ago former Real right-back Cicinho controversially alleged that Raul had “too much influence” in the Real dressing-room and had contributed to several foreign players leaving the club, without mentioning their names.
