ECoR wins a tough match

Competition continued to be intense on the second day of the all-India ball badminton tournament hosted by St. Joseph’s College of Engineering here on Monday.

East Coast Railway beat off a strong challenge from Southern Railway B 27-29, 29-27, 29-19. But Southern Railway managed to snatch victory from BDL (Hyderabad).

The following have entered the quarterfinals: Hathway (Hyderabad), Southern Railway B, East Coast Railway, IOB, Southern Railway A, Muppannas Club (Andhra), ICF and BDL (Hyderabad).

The results:

Hathway (Hyderabad) bt Western Railway 29-20, 29-23; Muppannas Club (Andhra) bt St. Joseph’s A 29-23, 28-29, 29-27.

IOB bt Kerala Fives 18-29, 29-10, 29-1; BDL (Hyderabad) bt St. Joseph’s B 29-27, 29-19; ICF bt St. Joseph’s A 29-18, 29-28.

Hathway bt IOB 29-12, 29-13; ECoR bt SR B 27-29, 29-27, 29-19; SR A bt BDL (Hyderabad) 29-11, 27-29, 29-18.
