Vishal shines for UP

Vishal Choudhary, with six for 63, was the wrecker-in-chief as Karnataka was dismissed for 228 on day one of its Col. C.K. Nayudu third place match against Uttarpradesh here on Sunday.

Karnataka, after having elected to bat, was off to a steady start with the openers D. Nischal and M.G. Naveen putting on 56 runs. Middle-order bat K.N. Bharath scored 60. But from 153 for three, the host collapsed to 228 all out.

At stumps Uttar Pradesh was 75 for three.
