Sri Lanka bat first in opening Test against West Indies

Sri Lanka elected to bat after winning the toss on Wednesday in the first Test against West Indies in Galle.

The hosts named all-rounder Milinda Siriwardana for his Test debut after he scored an unbeaten century against the West Indies in a lead-up tour game.

The West Indies selected Shannon Gabriel in a four-man pace attack, with leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo also chosen.

Marlon Samuels was recalled, replacing opener Rajendra Chandrika.
