Rohit Sharma admits bowling at the death is a worry for India. “It’s a concern, no doubt; we cannot run away from that. But, when you’re bowling to someone like (A.B.) de Villiers and all those kinds of players, you have to be extra smart and more proactive about what they do. I’m sure all the fast bowlers are working on it,” he said.
“They (bowlers) know how to handle that, but they need to be a little more proactive so that it can help us plan better. In the last few games, not only against South Africa but in Bangladesh and Australia as well, we were making small mistakes in the last five to 10 overs.
“That shouldn’t be a concern now because we’ve one extra fielder outside to work with. I’m sure we can plan accordingly and get the best results in our favour,” said Rohit.
On Ajinkya Rahane pushing Virat Kohli to the No. 4 slot, Rohit said: “It’s something we need to look at carefully, and what we do with our batting order. It depends on what MS (Dhoni) thinks.”
South Africa bowling coach Charl Langeveldt spoke on tackling Rohit’s awesome form. “I think the first 10 balls to him are important. If we can get him out in the first 10 balls, I think that’s the way forward.”
