Ranji Trophy: Nayar out for two weeks

February 27, 2015 02:26 am | Updated 02:26 am IST - Bengaluru:

Mumbai all-rounder Abhishek Nayar, who suffered a head-injury during the course of the Ranji Trophy semifinals here against Karnataka, has been ruled out of cricket for two weeks.

Referring to Nayar’s present condition, Hosmat Hospital’s head Dr. Thomas Chandy said: “Though there was a brief period of unconsciousness after the fall, Abhishek Nayar’s CT scans of brain and cervical spine are normal.

“As he had a concussive head injury, he is advised not play cricket for two weeks and to take rest.”

The Mumbai team-management too said that Nayar is resting but with Mumbai chasing a steep 445, it is a matter of conjecture about whether he would still be pressed to play.

It could be a probability if the visitor tweaks a miracle and gets close to the target.
