Rex Rajkumar Singh came up with a dream spell of 10 for 11 to help Manipur record a 10-wicket win over Arunachal Pradesh in the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) cricket tournament on Tuesday.
Resuming at 89 for three in reply to Arunachal’s 138, Manipur was bowled out for 122.
Rajkumar’s spell of 9.5-6-11-10 skittled out Arunachal for 36.
The 18-year-old Manipur left-arm pacer, who made his Ranji Trophy debut this season, thus completed a terrific haul of 15 wickets in the match, having five in the first innings.
Mahaboob Basha of Andhra had claimed a 10-wicket haul against Tripura in the Cooch Behar Trophy match in 2009-10 at the same venue.
The scores: Arunachal Pradesh 138 in 54.5 overs & 36 in 18.5 overs (Rex Rajkumar Singh 10 for 11) lost to Manipur 122 in 49.1 overs (Abhijeet 48, Govind Mittal five for 50, D. Dagra four for 25) & 55 for no loss in 7.5 overs (Shubham Chouhan 32 n.o.).
