In a bizarre incident during a club cricket match between Moonee Valley CC and Strathmore Heights CC at Melbourne, Jatinder Singh of Moonee Valley was bowled and his middle stump uprooted but the bails somehow remained intact. After some deliberation, the umpire gave his verdict: ‘out’.

“There was a little bit of debate and the umpire was a bit confused as well,” Ozbun told The Leader , a local newspaper. “Nobody had seen anything like that before.”

The newspaper reported that both teams had agreed Jatinder was indeed out after checking the rule book and confirming [that] they made the right call.
