Mayank Agarwal slammed a quick hundred but Arun Yadav's six-wicket haul helped Bengal restrict Karnataka to 289 in their Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy match at the RSI grounds here on Sunday.

Mayank's 139 (158b, 12x4, 8x6) and his 192-run third-wicket stand with Karun Nair (65) may have given the host hopes of a giant total but Yadav's six for 66 ensured otherwise.

No play was possible on Saturday, the opening day of the match.

At Cuttack, Andhra, in reply to Orissa's 291, made 120 for five in 63 overs at the end of the second day's play. L. Samal scored 101 for Orissa while K. Bharat Reddy took six for 87 for Andhra.

At Hyderabad, left-arm spinner Kapil Kumar (six for 31) helped Tripura fight back by dismissing Hyderabad for 179 in reply to its first innings score of 145 at the Gymkhana Grounds.

In its second essay, Tripura was 146 for five at close of play thanks to Gaurav Bhatia's fine 90 (127 balls, 11x4, 2x6).

At Perinthalmanna, a fine hundred by Sachin Mohan (105) helped Kerala take control against Madhya Pradesh.

In reply to the visitor's first innings total of 186, Kerala ended the day at 371 for six. There were excellent knocks from Vinoop Manoharan (84) and skipper Akshay Kodoth (80, retired hurt) as well.
