Hello and welcome to our coverage of the IPL Auction 2022 in Bengaluru. The 10 franchises bought a total of 204 players in the mega-auction.

While the likes of Deepak Chahar, Ishan Kishan, and Shreyas Iyer ruled the day 1 of the auction, players like Jofra Archer, Tim David and Romario Sheperd bagged big money on the second day. Various uncapped players like India U-19 world cup-winning stars like Yash Dhull and Raj Bawa will also become a part of the league.

IPL 2022 mega-auction ends

TATA IPL 2022 mega-auction comes to an end after two days of bidding and the teams are formed for the tournament.

Fabian Allen is sold to MI for the base price of ₹75 lakh. RCB buys David Willey for his base price of ₹2 crore.

RCB also buys uncapped Luvnith Sisodia for the base price of ₹20 lakh. Aman Khan goes to KKR for ₹20 lakh.

Pacer Siddharth Kaul now finds a bidder and is sold to RCB for the base price of ₹75 lakh. B. Sai Sudharsan sold to Lucknow Super Giants for ₹20 lakh. Aryan Juyal goes to MI for ₹20 lakh.

Rassie van der Dussen now sold to RR for the base price of ₹1 crore.

India batter, Karun Nair, who remained unsold so far, now finds some bidders. KKR and RCB make initial bids before RR jumps in with a bid of ₹1.2 crore. After a round of bidding, Royals get him for ₹1.4 crore.

The teams are now taking good time to deliberate before spending the remaining money in their respective purses.

Kuldeep Sen now finds a bidder and sold to RR for his base price of ₹20 lakh.

Alex Hales too gets a team in this round. KKR buys him for his base price of ₹1.5 crore. Evin Lewis also sold at his price of ₹2 crore to Lucknow Super Giants.

SRH gets Glenn Philips for his base price of ₹1.5 crore.

Spinner Karn Sharma sold to RCB for his base price of ₹50 lakh.

Chris Jordan, earlier passed as unsold, now sees a contest between CSK and RCB. Finally CSK gets him for ₹3.60 crore. He was priced at ₹2 crore. South Africa pacer Lungisani Ngidi sold to Delhi Capitals for the base price of ₹50 lakh.

India pacer Umesh Yadav, with a base price of ₹2 crore, goes unsold.

Uncapped C. Hari Nishanth sold to CSK at the base price of ₹20 lakh.

Anmolpreet Singh also sold for ₹20 lakh to Mumbai Indians.

N. Jagadeesan, priced at ₹20 lakh, goes to CSK at base price.

Uncapped batter Vishnu Vinod, priced at ₹20 lakh, is sold to SRH for ₹50 lakh. MI made initial bids before letting him go to Hyderabad.

Returning from a break, the auction now moves to the last session with the second acceleration round 2.

South Africa’s David Miller, priced at ₹1 crore, is up for grabs and Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals compete for him. The bid now crosses the 3-crore mark as the two franchises go neck and neck for the middle-order finisher. And the Titans win the battle with Royals backing out. Sold for ₹3 crore.

Bangladesh’s star all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, with a base price of ₹2 crore, goes unsold.

English wicket-keeper batter SamBilling, priced at ₹2 crore, goes to Kolkata Knight Riders for the base price.

India wicket-keeper batter, Wriddhiman Saha is sold to GT for ₹1.9 crore, after a brief contest between with Chennai Super Kings. Australia keeper Matthew Wade, priced at ₹2 crore, goes to Titans for ₹2.4 crore.

Uncapped bowler, Anunay Singh sold to RR for the base price of ₹20 lakh.

In uncapped bowlers, Saurabh Dubey sold to SRH for the base price of ₹20 lakh.

Mohd Arshad Khan sold to MI for ₹20 lakh.

Ansh Patel bought by PBSK for ₹20 lakh. Ashok Sharma, priced at₹ 20 lakh, is sold to KKR for ₹55 lakh. RR too fought for the bowler but lost to Kolkata. Ashutosh Sharma goes unsold.

India pacer Dhawal Kulkarni, with a base price of 75 lakh, goes unsold.

Uncapped spinner Prashant Solanki’s name sparks a brief contest between Chennai and Rajasthan and CSK gets him. Starting from base price of ₹20 lakh, Solanki gets a decent amount of ₹1.2 crore.

Chama Milind sold to RCB for ₹25 lakh.

In all-rounders, Singaporean all-rounder Tim David attracts many buyers as RR and KKR battle to get him in their respective side. Starting from ₹40 lakh, the bidding has shot up to ₹5.5 crore. And MI joins the party with ₹5.75 crore and competes with RR and KKR. The contest moves to ₹8 crore. RR has taken a back seat with lack of funds. And Mumbai gets him for a whopping ₹8.25 crore.

Romario Shepherd, priced at ₹75 lakh, is up for grabs and CSK seems to be battling various franchises, including SRH and MI, to get the West Indies all-rounder. RR joins the party as bids shoot up to ₹7 crore. CSK now slows down as SRH and RR go head to head in the heated up contest. Rajasthan’s draining account become a problem as the management takes its time to make bids. RR finally gives up as SRH wins the battle for ₹7.75 crore.

CSK gets all rounder Dwaine Pretorius for his base price of ₹50 lakh.

Sherfane Rutherford also sold to RCB for his base price of ₹1 crore.

Daniel Sams, priced at ₹1 crore, is sold to MI for ₹2.6 crore. Lucknow Super Giants did show some interest in the Australian all-rounder but stepped back as they are close to draining their purse.

Rishi Dhawan, priced at ₹50 lakh, is sold to PBKS for ₹55 lakh.

Interesting contest going on between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals for South Africa pacer Jofra Archer with bids qucikly shooting up to ₹6 crore. It was almost closed for MI at 6.5 ₹crore as SRH joins the race. Now, RR steps back from the contest and SRH gives a tough time to Mumbai. But MI finally gets its man for ₹8 crore.

Raj Angad Bawa, priced at ₹20 lakh, catches interest from franchises as MI and PBKS go head to head. The all-rounder grabbed limelight after his significant contribution with both bat and ball in India’s successful campaign at Under-19 World Cup 2022. His price has reached ₹2 crore with Punjab ahead of Mumbai. And sold to PBKS for ₹2 crore.

Sanjay Yadav, with a base price of ₹20 lakh, is sold to Mumbai Indians for ₹50 lakh. Punjab Kings also showed initial interest in the player.

Darshan Nalkande sold to Gujarat Titans at his base price of ₹20 lakh.

Jaydev Unadkat, priced at ₹75 lakh, almost went unsold as MI makes a bid with the sound of closing hammer. Now MI and CSK bid for the India pacer. And he is sold to MI for ₹1.3 crore. This is Mumbai’s first purchase of the day.

Sheldon Cottrell of West Indies, priced at ₹75 lakh, goes unsold.

India pacer Navdeep Saini, priced at ₹75 lakh, is under the hammer now. Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals are going head to head for him and the bids have reached ₹2.60 crore. And finally sold to RR for ₹2.60 crore.

1.39 p.m.

Chetan Sakariya, with a base price of ₹50 lakh, is being bid upon and Rajasthan Royals are fighting RCB and PBKS to get their pacer back. After the three teams took his price up to ₹1.7 crore, DC heats up the moment with their ₹1..8 crore bid. The DC-RR battle now takes up the bidding to ₹3 crore. RR: 3.2 crore, DC: 3.4 crore, RR: 3.6 crore, DC: 3.8 crore, RR: 4 crore, DC: 4.2 crore. And sold to Delhi.

Pacer Sandeep Sharma sold at his base price of ₹50 lakh to Punjab Kings.

South Africa’s Lungisani Ngidi, with a base price of ₹50 lakh, remains unsold.

Syed Khaleel Ahmed, with a base price of ₹50 lakhs, is us for the grabs. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are currently battling for the pacer with bids reaching up to ₹5 crore. Sold for ₹5.25 crore to DC.

As the auction resumes after a short break, India pacer Ishant Sharma, with a base price of ₹1.5 crore, goes unsold.

Krishnappa Gowtham, with a base price of ₹50 lakhs, is sold to Lucknow Super Giants for ₹90 lakhs.

Lucknow Super Giants, PBKS and SRH make bids for Indian all-rounder Shivam Dubey, whose base price is ₹50 lakh. After the price crosses ₹2 crore, CSK joins the battle and is currently leading with a bid of ₹2.80 crore. PBKS takes it to ₹3.40 crore and CSK immediately goes up to ₹3.6 crore. Punjab: ₹3.8 crore and CSK quickly responds with ₹4 crore. Chennai wins the battle with ₹4 crore.

South Africa pacer Marco Jansen, priced at ₹50 lakh, is sold to SRH for ₹4.2 crore. Mumbai Indians too fought for Jansen, who was with them last year.

12.46 p.m.

SRH and PBKS make bids for West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith, whose base price is ₹1 crore. He is currently being bid at ₹4.40 as Rajasthan Royals make their first bid of the morning. The price goes up to ₹5.25 crore as SRH, RR and PBKS fight for Smith, who made headlines in the recently-concluded ODI series against India. He is finally sold to PBKS for ₹6 crore.

KKR and PBKS are now competing for the player. Gujarat Titans enter the bidding with ₹7 crore and now goes head to head with PBKS. It gets interesting as the teams fight for the Englishman and the bid has reached ₹10 crore. GT seems to have given up as the price goes up, while Sunrisers Hyderabad join the party with ₹11.25 crore. However, he is sold to PBKS for ₹11.50 crore.
