The Saurashtra Cricket Association has expressed its readiness to be the home venue for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) should the Vivo IPL matches be moved out of the Southern City.

An SCA spokesman told The Hindu “SCA is ready to host Chennai Super Kings matches. We have written to the BCCI and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). SCA has successfully hosted 10 IPL matches in last 2 years.”

Following untoward incidents, surrounding the Cauvery water dispute, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday when Chennai Super Kings played its first home match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and also outside the ground, it is learnt that CSK has been advised by authorities to relocate its six remaining matches to another city.

The head of BCCI’s Committee of Administrators Vinod Rai has told an agency that Chennai Super Kings has been asked to choose one among the four alternative venues in Thiruvananthapuram, Visakhapatnam, Pune and Rajkot.
