East Zone took the field with three wins under its belt and thrashed West Zone by eight wickets to win the Syed Mushtaq Ali Inter-Zone Twenty20 league at the Wankhede Stadium here on Saturday.

Virat Singh, with an unbeaten 58, and Ishank Jaggi, who made an attractive 56, starred in the chase.

For West, Sheldon Jackson (52) got going, but once he departed in the the 15th over, West did not have the sturdy men to play the big shots.
