Defending champions D.Y. Patil ‘A’ lost to qualifier Jain Irrigation by four wickets in Group A league at the 10 All India Dr D.Y. Patil T20 Cup at the D.Y. Patil stadium, Nerul, on Thursday. The hosts managed 121-7 in 20 overs, with Siddharth Chitnis top-scoring at 32. Left-arm spinner Akshay Darekar, slated to play the 2014 Ranji Trophy final for Maharashtra next week, picked up 2-11 and medium-pacer Azhar Ansari 2-28.
Jain Irrigation batsmen withstood the wily Praveen Tambe (3-22) and Udit Patel (2-13) to overhaul the target losing six wickets.
