Indian Cricket player T. Natarajan said that the team coaches and other players were supportive in the dressing room and it has played a vital role in his success.
Natarajan told presspersons, “coaches and other players in the team were very supportive and they motivated me which has played a vital role in my performance. They were friendly and they never treated me as a new guy.”
Natarajan received a heroic welcome when he returned to his native village Chinnapampatti here recently. He said that he never expected such a grand welcome here and expressed gratitude to all his family members, friends, villagers and well-wishers who supported him in his journey.
He said that he became emotional and tear-eyed when Indian Cricket team Captain Virat Kohli gave him the trophy at the end of T20 match in Australia. “I was standing at a corner and became tear-eyed when Captain Virat Kohli let me hold the trophy. I felt very elated when a legend like Virat Kohli gave me the trophy”, he said.
Natarajan said that during the matches, he was focused only doing his best for victory for the team.
Natarajan said that he never faced any language issues. Natarajan mentioned that it was quite difficult to handle between birth of his child and playing for the National team but he said that his family felt proud and elated that I was playing for the country.
The cricketer said that Natrajan’s Cricket Academy was started with the aim of supporting youth from his village. On his message to youth, Natarajan said that he is an example that hard work pays. Natarajan said that he was someone who dreamt of playing for Tamil Nadu cricket team and today he got the opportunity for the National team.
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association secretary R.S.Ramasamy and office-bearers from Salem Cricket Association members were present.
