Spin legend Shane Warne on Wednesday released Anil Kumble’s book ‘Wide Angle’ — a collection of off-field pictures shot by the former India skipper.

The Australian cricketer recalled his long association with Kumble at the launch, organised at a city hotel here.

“Anil is a combination of a gentleman and a fierce competitor and one of the jewels of the sport,” said Warne.

The coffee table book, a pictorial tale of Kumble’s memoir of ‘Off-the-field’ cricket photography, has rare moments of Indian cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar celebration after reaching his 35th Test century in Delhi. There is a section dedicated to wildlife as well.

Sachin Tendulkar has written the foreword to the book that brings together Kumble’s passion for cricket, photography and wildlife. It gives a glimpse into the lives of his contemporaries beyond the boundary.

“This book will give you some insight into what happens in a cricketer’s life outside of the game,” said Kumble.

The book, produced and marketed by TENVIC, a division of Anil Kumble Sports Pvt. Ltd., is priced at Rs. 5,900 and is available for purchase exclusively on >
