As Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils meet in the Indian Premier League at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on Tuesday one witnesses a sense of calmness in both the camps.
Aussie all-rounder Cameron White, who is yet to play his first game of IPL-IV, says Deccan Chargers is not yet disheartened with its current tally of two points from four matches. “It seems everyone is beating everyone and there is no unbeaten team so far. The tournament is wide open,” White told mediapersons here on Monday.
Daredevils coach Greg Shipperd did not want to read too much into the fact that his side had won its last game while the opponent team had not. “Every game is critical for the team,” said Shipperd.
Shipperd acknowledged that the home outfit was in the phase of settling down. “In the next couple of matches we get our full bowling attack back and available for selection,” said the Aussie while stressing that Jharkhand pacer Varun Aaron would play a key role in the coming matches along with James Hopes.
Coach happy
Shipperd took heart from Daredevils' first win in its third match (against Pune Warriors). “It was good to see there was no panic. There was a sort of belief in a group that we could chase that target,” he said. However, the coach underlined that massive improvement was needed in fielding.
Shipperd hinted that Morne Morkel might stage a comeback for the clash against Chargers.
The visiting team sounded confident of its attack due to the presence of a couple of speedsters in Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma.
“It doesn't matter what the conditions are, we have the team,” said White.
The 27-year-old was delighted with the success of his former Royal Challengers mate and current Chargers teammate Bharat Chipli. “It is good to see him come good. He is doing quite well, he is one of the leading run-scorers in the tournament.”
