NEW DELHI: Saurabh Singh (139 batting) and Kanishk Seth (46 batting) put on 92 runs for the on-going seventh-wicket stand to bring Bengal within striking distance of Delhi’s first innings total on the third and penultimate day of the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) cricket final at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground here on Saturday.

Bengal ended the day at 272 for six in reply to Delhi’s 314. The visiting team owes it to overnight unbeaten Saurabh Singh, who batted all day to thwart Delhi’s designs of gaining the upper hand.

At one stage, Bengal was 180 for six but once Kanishk joined Saurabh, Delhi went wicketless for the day’s remaining 30.3 overs.

The scores:

Delhi 314 vs. Bengal 272 for six in 120 overs (Saurabh Singh 139 batting, Kanishk Seth 46 batting, Mohammad Ansari 38, Vishvash Malik three for 78).
