Hardik Pandya has received an official reprimand for the send-off he gave Chris Lynn during the first T20 International in Adelaide on Tuesday.

Pandya was found guilty of breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. The ICC cited Article 2.1.7 of the Code of Conduct, which relates to “Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an International Match”.

In a release, the ICC said Pandya had “celebrated excessively in close proximity to the dismissed batsman, which could have provoked an aggressive reaction.”

After the game, the Baroda allrounder admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Jeff Crowe.
