Senior Sindh minister Muhammad Ali Shah on Thursday accused the International Cricket Council of turning a “blind eye” to India’s strong-arm tactics while maintaining a “biased” approach towards Pakistan.
Mr. Shah, a senior PCB governing council member, shot off a letter to the board chairman Ejaz Butt, in which he blasted the ICC for its “suggestive approach” and advised him to adopt a more stringent stance towards the world governing body of the game.
He also demanded the board to follow the footsteps of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) when trading with the ICC.
“The ICC is not protected by any international law or even local legislation that one cannot be suggestive of its stance in different situations,” he said in the letter.
“The ICC has time and again failed to protect the interest of its full members with equality and justice. It has showed that this body can be influenced by some vested interests. It has turned a blind eye to most of the issues involving Indian interests.
“To protect the Indian Premier League, it made Pakistan ban their quality lot just because they are playing in another league which is challenging the interest of the Indian cricket Board,” Shah said.
