Muddiah passes away

Former Indian cricketer V.M. Muddiah passed away here on Thursday evening.

Muddiah, 80, played in two Tests between 1959 and 1960 besides playing for Mysore State and Services in the First-Class circuit.

Muddiah started his career as a batsman before he donned the varying roles of being a medium-pacer and an off-spinner.

He eventually made his mark as a spinner with 175 First-Class wickets in his kitty. — Principal Correspondent
