Injury-plagued New Zealand allrounder Jacob Oram is planning to retire from international cricket, a media report here has claimed.

According to ‘ The Sydney Morning Herald’, Oram, who is currently nursing a hamstring injury, is in talks with New Zealand Cricket officials and could hold a press conference tomorrow to speak about his future.

The 31-year-old is devastated after picking up the latest injury, that cut short his Champions Trophy participation, and is now weighing his options for the future.

“I am obviously gutted with my latest injury and missing out on an ICC event; these events are particularly special,” Oram was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

“At the moment I am spending some time assessing my future and trying to work out what is best for me and the Black Caps,” he said.

The imposing allrounder has played 33 Tests and 132 one-dayers for New Zealand since making his debut in 2001.
