Batting-friendly surface expected

January 30, 2017 09:23 pm | Updated 09:23 pm IST - Bengaluru:

After two relatively low-scoring games, India and England are likely to encounter a pitch full of runs when they meet at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.

“It will be a good batting track. My expectation is that the scores will be around 160-170,” the KSCA curator K. Sriram said. “I have rolled and prepared it in the way that I prepare the IPL pitches. I have not done anything different. I have not got phone calls from anybody.”

The series decider will be the first international fixture at the venue after the installation of the new vacuum-powered drainage system. “The outfield looks like a snooker table,” gushed Sriram. “The grass has become so green and lush.” — Special Correspondent
