Blasters now have their own Messi

Messi Bouli.

The Kerala Blasters FC may have struggled to score goals the last couple of Indian Super League seasons but now it has found its own Messi to sort out the problem.

The Kochi-based club has signed Raphael Eric Messi Bouli, a left-footed striker from Cameroon. The 27-year-old, who has played in the Chinese and Iranian leagues earlier, was part of the Cameroon National team in 2013, 2017 and last year, according to a Blasters release.

“We have our own Messi now. He is a striker who can play upfront with Ogbeche and on the left wing as well. Messi is a strong player whose presence gives the team more power at the front and enables diversity in our attacking game plan,” said Eelco Schattorie, the Blasters' head coach.
