Usain Bolt will again run in Ostrava at the Golden Spike meet.

The Olympic champion will race for the sixth time at the meet, which is part of the new IAAF World Challenge series. The meet is scheduled for May 25.

“I am delighted to return to Ostrava,” Bolt said in a statement Thursday. “The Golden Spike meeting always has a full house and the fans are so full of energy every year they push me to good performances. It is a good track and nice stadium where the fans are close to the action.”

The Golden Spike will be his first meet of 2012 in Europe.

Bolt has already committed to running the 100 at a couple of European meets in this year. He will compete in Rome on May 31, and at another Diamond League meet in Oslo on June 7 before returning to Jamaica for the national trials ahead of the London Olympics.

Last year, Bolt won the 100 at the Golden Spike, finishing in 9.91 seconds.

Bolt swept the 100 and 200 at the 2008 Beijing Games and helped Jamaica to gold in the 4x100 relay.

Bolt has said he also wants to run the 4x400 in London and become the first male athlete since Carl Lewis at the 1984 Los Angeles Games to win four gold medals in track and field at the Olympics

“Training has gone well over the winter and I am looking forward to competing,” Bolt said.
