Rich haul for India at u-20 Eurasian meet

Gurindervir Singh, the senior Federation Cup champion, emerged fastest man in the under-20 Eurasian athletics meet which ended here on Thursday.

The 19-year-old from Punjab, who won the Federation Cup in 10.35s which broke his under-20 National record set last year, clocked 10.42s for the gold.

India won six golds at the two-day meet with the others coming through quartermilers Vikrant Panchal (47.90s) and Florence Barla (54.73s), Sreekiran Nandakumar (800m, 1:54.62s), Rohit Yadav (javelin, 74.55m) and the 4x400m mixed relay team (Florence Barla, Priscilla Daniel, Vikrant Panchal, Abdul Razak, 3:30.58s).

Meanwhile, Abdul Razak (400m, 48.80s), Priscilla Daniel (800m, 2:12.43s) and Sahil Silwal (javelin, 72.36m) won silver medals.

Junior athletes from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, India and Tajikistan took part in the meet.
