Discus thrower Krishna Poonia recorded her season best of 59.39 metres to win the Golden Harvest throws meet at Portland, Oregon, U.S. on Wednesday.

According to her husband and coach Virendar Poonia, the Commonwealth Games champion had three other throws over 59 metres and two fouls.

There was no information regarding the other throwers who competed in the meet, which was a weekly contest at the Mac Wilkins Throw Centre where Poonia has been training this season.

London 2012?

Poonia is still looking for the Olympic qualification mark of 59.50 metres.

Her previous best this season was 58.88, also in Portland, in August.

The ‘A' qualification mark is 62.00m which an athlete would require in case there are two entries in discus.

Poonia said she hoped to make the Olympic grade in the next few meets.
