Mumbai Marathon gets National status

The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, given Gold Label status by IAAF, athletics world body, has been granted ‘National Status' by the Athletics Federation of India. According to a written statement by AFI Director, M L Dogra, to Procam International, marathoners' performances will be considered for selection and participation in international marathons, including London Olympics 2012.

This information has been conveyed to all the affiliated State units and boards, ensuring the participation of all leading Indian long distance athletes for the January 15 event.
