Hima Das unlikely to run in World Relays

Hima Das, who pulled out midway through the 400m heats at the recent Asian athletics championships in Doha with back pain, is not likely to run in the World Relays which begin in Yokohama, Japan, on Saturday.

Bahadur Singh, the chief national coach, said that the under-20 World champion has spondylitis and felt that she would not be running the event.

“It is not very serious, it will be okay with physiotherapy, they have advised that. But I think they will not put her in the competition,” Bahadur told The Hindu from Patiala on Friday evening.

The India men’s, women’s and mixed 4x400m relay teams will be in action in the two-day World Relays.
