P.U. Chitra upset Kenya’s Mercy Cherono and won the women’s 1,500m gold in a season-best 4:12.65s at the Folksam Grand Prix on Tuesday. Jinson Johnson won the 1,500m silver in 3:39.69s as he finished behind host Sweden’s Andreas Almgren (3:39.68s).
M. Sreeshankar won the men’s long jump gold with an effort of 7.93m at Copenhagen Athletics Games.
