Rahamatulla, Hema steal the show

Records remained under cover for the second consecutive day of the 58th all-India Police athletic meet at the University stadium here on Thursday.

However, Rahamatulla Moll (Bengal) and Hema Bhanga (Maharashtra) hogged the limelight by emerging as the fastest athletes of the meet.

Rahmatulla clocked 10.86s to finish first in men's 100m race and pipped Jagadish Basak (BSF) to second place. Shoaib Sayyed (Maharashtra) came third.

Hema Bhanga clocked 12.63s for the gold in women's 100m race and was followed by M.Priya Devi (SSB) and Reshma Patel (Maharashtra).

Women: 100m: 1. Hema Bhanga (Mah) (12.63s), 2. M.Priya Devi (SSB), 3. Reshma Patil (Mah); 400m: 1. Saraswati Chand (Ori) (56.25), 2. Sapinder Kaur (Pun), 3. Archana Bhaduira (SSB); 1500m: 1. Pratima Tudu (SSB) (4:28.81), 2. S.Thobaton Chanu (CRPF), 3. Wahida Rehman (CRPF); Hammer throw: 1. Archana Bara (Bih) (57.98m), 2. Sarabjit Kaur (Pun), 3. Vipin Kumari (CRPF).
