Manipal takes the honours

Manipal University won a total of 16 medals (inclusive of six golds), on the second day of the three-day all-India inter-health university athletic championship here at the MIT stadium.

The results (winners only):

Men: 800m: Ashutosh Dasharath Nimse (Maharashtra Univ., Nashik), 2:09.4s; High jump: Midhun Vincent (Manipal) 1.78m (NMR); 110m hurdles: Midhun Vincent (Manipal) 18.2s; 5000m: Manjunath (RGUHS, Bangalore) 17:03.4 NMR; Shot put: Jinu Samuel (RGUHS, Bangalore) 11.55m (NMR); Javelin: Jayson Roy D’Souza (Manipal), 41.92m; 200m: Vishwajit Jagadish Mane (Maharashtra Univ.) 23.9s; Discus: Digpal Singh Ranawat (Manipal) 37.71m.

Women: 800m: Reena Renita Rodrigues (RGUHS, Bangalore) 2:43.2s; Shotput: Reshma D. Almeida (RGUHS, Bangalore) 11.25m; 100m hurdles: Lee Wen Xin (Manipal) 21.7s; 5000m: Sujata Vinod Gade (Maharashtra Univ.), 22:12.3s (NMR). 200m: Sujatha (Manipal) 30.2s.
