British hurdler Callum Priestley has been provisionally suspended from all competition and faces a two-year ban after testing positive for a banned asthma drug.
The 21-year-old Londoner has been suspended under IAAF rules by UK Anti-Doping after analysis of the B sample of an out-of-competition test showed the presence of clenbuterol - an anabolic agent, which can be used to reduce body fat.
The positive test was taken in South Africa in January, before Priestley won the 60 hurdles at last month’s UK Championships. UK Athletics chief executive Niels de Vos says he is “hugely disappointed that there has been a failed test.”
