Anoop, Merlin emerge fastest in record time

The Calicut University inter-collegiate athletics meet came alive on day two at the St. Joseph’s College Ground here on Thursday. Six new meet records, including the short sprint in both the men’s and women’s events, were set today, after a barren opening day on Wednesday.

P.K. Anoop of St. Thomas (Thrissur) and Merlin K. Joseph of Vimala (Thrissur) emerged as the fastest athletes of the meet in record times. It was a record double for Merlin, as she helped Vimala create a new mark in the women’s 4x100m relay.
