R. Ashwin says he has imbibed fresh lessons in England.
“I have enjoyed every bit — be it success or failure. In England, I decided to live by the sword or die by it. I tossed the ball more and it hangs a bit more in the air here. I tried to beat the batsman in the air rather than off the wicket,” he said.
The off-spinner said India was building ahead despite the recent losses.
“We won a World Cup three months back. Now we are building our way to 2015. We do lose a few battles but the war needs to be won.
“When England comes to India, we might hold the upper-hand,” Ashwin said.
He also said he did not agree with his ‘one-day-bowler' label and added: “Would you play two off-spinners (in Tests)? I wouldn't.”
Ashwin deftly handled a query on the Indian team boycotting the ICC awards function.
“It depends on the authorities and what they want us to do. They have not had any intimation and as a player I would rather take a day off.”
Meanwhile, Alastair Cook said England was keen to finish the series on a high.
