Anchit dazzles in Galaxy’s win

D. Anchit’s century enabled Galaxy SC script a six-wicket win over Young Men’s Association in a fourth division ‘B’ zone contest of the TNCA lower division cricket league held here recently.

In another match, B.M. Balu Rajkumar’s knock of 142 went in vain as Ashok Leyland lost to Tangedco by three wickets.

Div.IV ‘B’: Eagle 116 for nine in 50 overs lost to Sir Theagaraya 117 for three in 18.4 overs (V. Madhavan 58).

Chatnath 126 in 34.5 overs (Mohammad Rahim four for 36) lost to Fox Trotters 128 for three in 26.2 overs (R. Prasanna Narayanan 45).

Gems 190 in 42 overs (D. Sudarsan five for 57) bt Netaji 187 for eight in 50 overs (T.R. Madhavan 56, P. Naarayanan 45, P.R. Venkatsubramaniam four for 56).

Young Men’s Association 245 in 49.5 overs (A. Mageshwaran 59, S. Sreenivasan 55, J. Panneer Selvam four for 31) lost to Galaxy 249 for four in 42.4 overs (D. Anchit 100 n.o., J. Panneer Selvam 46).

T20 tournament

Sunlight Cricket Associates will conduct a ‘Challenger Trophy Twenty20 tournament 2012 for corporates, private clubs, and colleges from July 15 to August 26.
