Sri Lanka to bat in final against India

Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and elected to bat against India in the summit clash of the cricket World Cup at the Wankhede stadium here today.

India have brought in paceman S Sreesanth in place of an injured Ashish Nehra.

In good news for Sri Lanka, ace spinner Muttiah Muariltharan is taking the field for his swansong match but the Islanders have made four changes to their side as they left out Angelo Mathews, Ajantha Mendis, Rangana Herath and Chamara Silva.

Thisara Perera, Suraj Randiv, Nuwan Kulasekara and Chamara Kapugedera are the replacements.

Teams:

India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (C), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel and S Sreesanth.

Sri Lanka: Kumar Sangakkara (C), Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Kapugedera, Thisara Perera, Nunwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Suraj Randiv and Muttiah Muralitharan.
