Lajong, Ar-Hima earn full points

Shillong Lajong FC and Ar-Hima FC earned full points from their matches in the final phase of second division I-League that got underway here on Monday.

Lajong defeated Southern Samity Kolkata 3-0, while Ar-Hima beat Royal Wahingdoh FC, Shillong 3-2 respectively.

First defeat

This was Wahingdoh's first defeat in seven matches.

Wahingdoh had to blame itself for the defeat as in the sixth minute Thrangki Laloo scored an own goal while trying to clear the ball.

In the injury time of the first half, Timmy Rynskhlem netted the second goal for the winner off a pass from Emanuel Ini Oyoh from inside the penalty box.

Wahingdoh came back in the second half and reduced the margin in the 65th minute when unchecked Bijendra Rai scored. Wahingdoh scored the equaliser six minutes later when Rai lobbed the ball into the post.

Unlucky Wahingdoh conceded a goal when Th. Sangkar Singh's grounder found the back of the net.

Emphatic win

In the second match of the day, Shillong Lajong humbled unmatched Southern Samity 3-0.

Lajong opened the account in the 11th minute through Boithang Haokip whose measured shot from the right wing.

The second goal came two minutes later when Zenith Mashangva found the net.

Lajong completed the tally in the 46th minute through Seikhohao Tuboi.

On Tuesday, Sikkim United FC will take on Sporting Club de Goa in the first match, while Vasco SC will meet Mohd. Sporting Club.
